You read it all that fast? I can't read all 60,000 words that fast and I wrote it. I might write a sequel, but for now this is complete as it is.

This wonderful! I love stories about the bond!

The whole thing about the feathers was lovely--I almost wished Jim had feathers, too.

On the Vulcan side, I am glad that the Vulcan race is making deliberate choices to widen the gene pool. I can see each woman bearing a child each from Spock and from Jim, in order to increase diversity. Very few stories about colonization address this, except for Marion Zimmer Bradley's Darkover series. In there, the women were expected to bear at least four children, all from different fathers. I would be interested in seeing if there was an actual demand for Spock and Jim's *cough* genetic material *cough* in the future, especially if their abilities come to light.

I feel sorry for Uhura, though. Yes, she lost her opportunity, but she wasn't fully informed, either.

All in all, excellent story, and the addition of the Delgasian race's mores as a justification for the diversion to Shi'masu was a nice touch, too.

As to I.

This one just got more and more complex as I went. It was originally just supposed to be a cute piece about Spock dealing with wings that made him horny. It kinda ran away with me. And as I came up with these logical complications, I had to develop logical counters. I totally believe the push for genetic diversity is the only logical answer for the Vulcans. I think a lot of the ideas in this story will stick around in any other reboot stories I write.

I felt awful for Uhura. I like her, but I knew she wasn't going to end up with Spock. I hope I did at least a decent job of breaking them up. I know the set up wasn't perfect.

I had fun with the Delgasians. They really wrote themselves and just added themselves to the story. I may have to bring them back someday.

Now that I'm done babbling, thank you for commenting and I'm glad you enjoyed my story.

Hi. Where can I find the Marion Zimmer Bradley's Darkover series you mentioned?

You can find a few in the sci fi/fantasy section of any bookstore, but mostly just the new ones. The older ones can be found in used bookstores. I've read a few, but I can never figure out the order so I don't really know the whole arc.

This is fantastic. You took a premise that could have easily descended into pure silliness or absolute drivel and turned it into an amazingly complex and beautiful story. The sheer richness of each chapter took my breath away. The personal interactions were spot on (I particularly enjoyed Jim and SpockPrime's conversations), and the attention to detail that you gave to everything from Spock's transformation to the Vulcan culture made me just want moremoremore.

I'm really blown away by this. Will definitely be reccing.

Thank you. I'm quite flattered by your words. It very nearly did devolve into drivel, but Spock isn't a character who does drivel and it just evolved and insisted on more respect and more story.
