I claim no credit on any of my icons except for "The Matches" one. I saved them all to my computer well before I created a livejournal account and then did not know who to credit. If you stumble across yours, please just nicely let me know and I will give credit. I am not a heartless icon stealing

indeed. i posted on The Matches community and asked for a few tracks that i hadn't been able to find. and apparently the chick i got my default icon from is part of the community. and it is true that most of the icons i borrowed were from before i had an account and etc. she made a tiny little comment about it on the community. then i checked her profile to make sure she was the one who made it before i credited her and i saw a whole journal entry she wrote badmouthing me about how i stole her icon without crediting her and how i was a bad matches fan for asking for those tracks. i just read it and was like "what the fuck?" i was going to comment on it, but i wasn't sure if it would piss her off more if she knew i read it, like i was stalking her or something. so i just wrote these two entries instead and who knows? maybe she'll somehow read them and then she'll know my opinion on the matter.

Not that I'm totally reading your other comment threads or anything, but just ignore her. People like that are rampant and stupid as all hell on LJ. I think you owe it to her to leave her a comment, saying at least "I credited you for the icon, now that I know it's yours. I'm sorry for the misunderstanding, it wasn't my intention to steal." If she wants to get her panties all in a twist, tell her to come talk to me. And I'll smack her around a bit for you. ;)

Basically, you're not the first or last person to take (accidentally or maliciously) someone else's graphics, so it's really no big deal. Anyway, regarding the quality of the icon itself...it's not that great anyway, so she can stfu. (Although I must say the subject is lovely. ;))

i really rather agree. all she really did was crop it and change the words on the sign.
