I rejiggered all my privacy settings (I wouldn't have thought it could find me to begin with, but...), but the last thing I need is to be dealing with computer issues.

I would ban that user. If you make a public post, however, there's nothing you could do to keep that user from reading.

I got added by the bot too. Just go to the admin console and enter "ban_set dontstop_helen". That will prevent them from commenting on any public posts.

The main thing these folks are after, (as I understand it) is your "google juice" AKA, your ability to give them a higher page rank score by linking to them, which your profile page does after they friend you.

One thing you can do is check the option to hide the "friend of" section on your profile. I don't know if this actually discourages them, but it should in theory, and it takes away the thing they're trying to get from you, which is reason enough for me. (You'll still be able to see this info on your own profile page when you're logged in.)
