I just wanted to canoodle with everyone and let you know that I'm wishing you well. I had two lovely people make Shelter icons for me and I'm currently showing off the one
smilla02 made. Thank you so much
smilla02 and
at_midnight! Your generosity and creativity never fails to astound me. ♥
Speaking of Shelter, if you haven't seen this film yet: gooooo! Rent, buy,

First I'm glad that my nudging worked. I can do it again, and again (rad: kick your ass when you don't make a word count, or write or whatever :D), and not feel bad in the least, 'cause, man, your writing is a gift for all of us.
Second, I've had Shelter on my hard drive since last week and still can't find a moment - or the right moment - to watch it. I'm hoping as soon as this big_bang business is over to sit and spend some time catching up on the movie (because you and Port) never fail at reccomending stuff.
Sooo. Put it this way, when I watch, I'm sure I'll want to read a coda :)
Last but not least, take care of yourself, honey, okay?

I've been reluctant to check out big_bang because I'm afraid that I'll never leave. As fears go it's a nice one to have but ... You have a nice long one coming up, don't you? That one I will take a day off to enjoy.
Thank you for the concern, sweetheart, but I think I'm OK. I probably really do need to take a day off but then who doesn't? ::grin::
Go team Shelter!!! \o/
♥ you!

I haven't read a lot myself (too caught up in finishing this time-consuming story. Next time, please, would you stop me?) but I will as soon as I post mine and then I'll send you the links to the most outstanding stories. You know I adore reccing you stuff!
Go team Shelter!!! \o/
I'll probably introduce you to a friend of mine very soon, because she's kind of obsessed with Shelter and I love matching people up and knowing they're having fun.

I know. I do.
It would be more a metaphorical ass-kicking ;)
And still very effective. ::nods::

Oh good! I'm so glad you do because as far as I'm concerned your word is golden in my book. ::remembers gratefully discovering big_pink from your rec:: And please, ::is pushy:: put the link to your story front and center.
Coming across anther Shelter fan is always a good thing. Thank you, sweetheart for keeping me in mind!

and wishes you had lots of down time (from working) to spend writing... still haven't seen Shelter... but hope to one day...
got a kick out of your comment about writing for ToD... especially since I *was* a hippie/flower child/anti war protester (marching along side soldier friends who had just returned from VietNam).
it was an exciting time to navigate and I write bits about it on occasion and wonder how I can ever pull it all together (and hope all the crimes have outlived their statutes of limitation) :)
looking forward to reading!! ((((big hugs))))

I think I must be perverse deep down inside because it seems like when I do have time to write that I just end up hypnotized by the blinky cursor but if I'm busy then I'm scribbling away. I've gotten to the point where a day off means I'll have time to read but not necessarily to write. I am in such awe of people who can write - and write well - on demand. It's no coincidence that I never sign up for challenges. I would fail every time. ::throws up hands::
The ToD story is, of course, about Zeke and Myron but I really want to do the time that they live in justice. I have some very vivid images from a childs point of view and now with a middle-aged adults perspective. I often get very emotional pointing out the most mundane details such as the price of stamps or the name of a newcaster. I should look up the price of a gallon of gas. That would really make me cry. ::sad grin::

Re. working on fiction - all I can do is quote from the novel Patience and Sarah, "You can't tell a gift when to come". They were referring to lovemaking, but it applies to creativity as well. And I 100% second what your other fan said, that your fiction is a gift.
Re. Vicodin - have only heard about it from House, but the last time I was in the States I discovered Advil, which also does the job for tension headaches.
So happy to hear from you and so sad that we won't be able to talk for a while - am off to Italy on 28 June, returning on 29 July. Three days' research, a 4-day conference (ohmygawdIhaven'tyetwrittenthebloodypaper, panicpanicpanicpanic), and 3 weeks with my (elderly and difficult) mother.
Love you, would send a heart if I knew how to do it, am sending a few Pullo/Vorenus vibes instead.

I know, pretty awesome, huh *nods*?
It's good you took up writing again, i wish I could do it myself, but I'm a waaay better reader than writer ;).

Honestly, I think I am, too. There are times I wonder, Why did I ever stop lurking? I was so good at it - and I could do it on demand, unlike writing. I think I promoted myself to my incompetence. But I also kind of love it even when it doesn't love me so ... there you go. :)
::big hug and a vicodin:: It's always good to hear from you, too.
Love your Weeds icon, btw. I've only seen the first season so I need to catch up.

Thank you! I like to think that it represents myself infront of the computer quite accurately. I really need to do some catching up myself!
