Hmmm. Personally, I want to say the eye, so that you could see what others were thinking and know what to say to avoid conflicts, since you seem more than anything to dislike and try to avoid such situations. Likewise, you'd know if someone was being honest or not with you, which it seems here you'd also like.

So if it's between the Rod and the Eye then I'm going for the Eye. You do actually seem like a very sane and balanced person in this application, more sane and balanced than some Millinnium Itemers anyway and you did say that you prefer to use and manipulate, though I just can't see you going for it full force with the Rod at all times. On the other hand you pretty clearly expressed living in the present and wanting the whole truth, so I can see how the Eye would come in very handy for that.
