Yes, folks, you read the subject line correctly! Has it been that long? Anyway, let's get cracking. Today, instead of a discussion, we have something I like to call a "Let Me Rec You" post. You comment with anything (author, a word in the title, genre, character, anything) and people (this means you) get to reply with one or more book/comic titles ( Read more... )

Women of the Otherworld series, by Kelley Armstrong. Romance novel-esque, but a decent read.

Kink fiction (esp. queer, though anything'd be great)

The Story of O, by Anne Desclos writing as Pauline Réage. D/s. (Kink, not queer.) ;)

have you read the sequel? I felt so disappointed after I did :(
I almost couldn't get to the end of the first book though, because of the themes and the prose. :( But it is a must read.

Until just a couple of weeks ago I didn't even know there was a sequel - I was surprised to hear there was one. I'm certainly looking out for it now though. *g*

As well as the book (tree format and .doc), I also have the movie. A friend sent it to me years ago, but I've never been able to watch it. Every time I try to get my head around the idea of Udo Kier + sex, my brain shorts out and I have to go sit in a dark room for a while until the incipient horror goes away. :P

This is a stretch, but Breakfast with Scot is about a gay couple, one of them used to play for the Leafs and the other used to be a lawyer for them inherit a kid. Seems like everyone's heard about it, though, since the Leafs are letting them use the name/jerseys/whatever for the movie. At least that's how I found it. :)
