Well... it's been over a week since my surgery and I'm still on crutches. I can semi-walk now... but it would certainly be easier to move if I could actually walk without the crutches... maybe even CARRY something!!! If it makes you feel any better to look at it this way, you'll be joining the ranks of many many students who have stood in the same place you are--and I'm sure that the vast majority will always it through. The path obviously won't be easy, but you'll make it so long as you stay dedicated.
Also, I'm going to have to disagree with Marla; when I got over here, I found out that QU--or at least QU's history program--was no p.o.s., and that the profs there had in fact really whipped us into shape. So, you may find yourself more prepared than you expected, though it will undoubtedly be a lot of work.
