A TS novel, now there's a thought (and I don't mean the French guy either).
What I really wanted to show with this rec is the sensuality of Jim's enhanced senses in a non-sexual way. I don't think this could have been portrayed as effectively in the television medium. And Spyke Raven's writing is so good at this.
Has anybody actually read the French guy's novels?
But yes, that's exactly it. It's something that you can only do in literature without it turning out too silly or distracting. It's one thing to use the zoom they used on the show, but to show what Spyke did, I don't know if it would work.
But then, I'm a booknerd. I think books are better than movies anyway.
Somewhere around here, there is an analysis of the similarities between the French guy's novels and TS. As far as I can tell, there aren't that many of them. Sure hope the litigation ends soon so we can get TS on DVD.
I doubt if very many people have read his novels recently.
One of the reasons I decided to start reccing here was to introduce older writers to fans who might not have seen them before. They're easy to miss if they are no longer writing in TS or might not have their stories in the major archives.
