I have to apologize in advance, I had real trouble imaging a world where they would cross paths and it would go smoothly in Mark's Harvard time or during her adventures against the people that ruined her life, so in order to make this effective... I went a more present future and had to characterize slightly OOC on both to make it work in a way that it would go favourably.

As it turned out, the hacker was caught and turned into the FBI. Mark was disappointed until he found it was another hacker who caught the hacker (and not the FBI), and that the hacker in question had a criminal record a mile wide (bad for business

Thanks! I cannot take credit for the idea, the line between rationality and rationalization is from a piece I read on genocide, it just seemed to work in what I was writing.

So that’s how about 18 hours later, and two change of clothes later (the first time it was because he went to work in his PJ’s again, the second time was because the steward on the plane was new and the drink stand decided to fall on Mark’s lap) Mark was standing the airport wondering what made him think this was a good idea

It was an hour later that Mark found himself outside of a semi fancy looking apartment for a place in Stockholm, and even more surprising was that when he knocked a woman answered

Mark didn’t even know her name but had already gotten the rejection loud and clear. The logic decision perhaps would be stop but this is why Erica dumped him, Mark didn’t quit. It could possibly end with him being slapped and/or thrown out on his ass but he was prepared to argue his case
