kotono: step 1

Nov 09, 2008 21:44

Over the course of 2.5 hours, I took a 3.5" image (that fortunately was highly detailed for its size! BIG FAT YAY!!!) and turned it into a life-size blue print with 100% detail transfer.

VISITORS: If you have plans to make this prop yourself but have absolutely NO desire or ability to draw a blueprint like this, send me a PM under the LJ name ainobethie with the subject line "Sword Blueprint" and I will be glad to send you a copy for the price of shipping. I accept paypal for international orders. For those in the USA, I also accept money order and well-concealed cash (at your own risk).

(to give you an idea, that's 3 sheets of computer paper, with one of them turned on it's side!)

(ignore dotted lines...oh and the scribble. Rachel got a hold of my pencil when I wasn't looking! O___O)

This entire picture was free handed with the assistance of a ruler and the occasional fold-and-rub method for perfect mirroring.

And the picture that made it all possible:

Still have no clue what the back looks like (LOL) but if the anime S wand is any indication, my guess is that it's probably going to be rather plain. (Oh God, I hope so!!)
