DAY EIGHT - (Day 31/Tuesday)

After meeting Mello the previous night, Sai and Usopp make sure to have a chat with their new ally the next morning. Discussion eventually turns to ways to safeguard their supplies and continues into the sun room during the next shift. Lunch is spent alone (read: mun didn't throw him out), but he approaches Zelnick in the game room the shift after. Dinner is also spent alone.

The onset of night finds Sai once again headed down a familiar path. The rest of the night is spent in Usopp's room. Sadly, it's for very mundane reasons.

DAY NINE - (Day 32/Wednesday)

This day's breakfast consists of a friendly(?) chat with Hiei before his visit with Dr. Sohma. The visit, while nothing out of the ordinary, brings up the subject of missing patients and leaves Sai in an odd state of mind for lunch with Sasuke. This leads into a confrontation and both of them getting sedated. Afterwards, Mello takes some advantage of this and they make plans to make a supply run that evening. At dinner, Kurikara has a bit of a chuckle at his expense, after all his warnings to the dragon about sedation.

He is well enough by nightfall to meet up with Mello. They plan to go up the stairs on the east side, but their way is blocked by Itachi. Knowing his enemy, Sai backs down and gets both of them out, while taking a kunai to the arm in the process. He makes sure to mention his name to Itachi for the next day when the man had snapped out of it. They have no choice but to go back to the other stairs and take their chances going past the SCed Edward Cullen to the hallway beyond. Making it safely, they first hit up the general storage before moving on to the main file storage. While they manage to grab a few files (Naruto's included), killing a spider in the process leaves Sai pretty much unmovable for the rest of the night.

DAY TEN - (Day 33/Thursday)

Breakfast with Usopp makes even giant spider attacks bearable, which is needed given that a note on the bulletin leads to a meeting with Itachi. An alliance of sorts is formed that may put Sai in the middle of a brotherly feud. Lunch is spent with a flirtatious Admiral Zex, who is given a small lesson on the term "homosexual." The shift after is uneventful (the excuse being that he was having his bandages changed) and dinner was also quiet.

Night takes Sai down the familiar path to Usopp's room. With an arm still damaged, this was the best option. He and the pirate converse and work on projects until Sasuke arrives looking for information and winds up being faced with a determined Sai. An argument occurs and Sasuke is eventually allowed to leave, but he has been successfully kept from searching for Itachi before the night ends.

DAY ELEVEN - (Day 34/Friday)

Morning brings about conversation with a still angry Sasuke and a warning to GTFO. Shower shift is a bit friendlier, involving a short chat with Heiji. Then the whole day is turned head over heels with the arrival of Naruto and Jiraiya, to whom Sai gives a decent sized overview of the runnings of the Institute. With little happening fourth shift, he's then surprised once again to find out that his roommate has also changed.

When night comes, Sai rushes out before Naruto and Jiraiya show in order to meet with Usopp. He finds the pirate being attacked threatened by Tanaka and comes to his rescue. Once the situation is resolved, he heads back out to find his fellow ninja and after discussing the best routes to take, they decide to head for the greenhouse and potential weaponry. A fight in the central hallway catches their attention first, however, and they end up "rescuing" Sasuke from a Leftover without his permission. This leads to one angry Uchiha who takes it out on Jiraiya. Night ends before the arguing can become any more heated.

DAY TWELVE - (Day 35/Saturday)

The bus ride to Doyleton is spent with an uncomfortable Okita Souji. The day itself is a bit of a loss as an altercation with Sasuke leads to early sedation and a black eye. (He was just trying to help, Sauce. Really!) He remains on the bus until the ride home, where he's joined by Honey and Mori. Dinner with Honey is then once again a cute affair.

After a short doze, Sai wanders out with the intention of checking on Usopp, but runs into Vlad instead. The man convinces him to accompany him on a trip upstairs. Their exploring takes them to the morgue as well as an autopsy room, the Experimental Treatments Laboratory and each of the adjoining rooms. In the animal test subject's kennel, Sai is oddly taken by one of the animals and frees it despite much discouragement on Vlad's part. He intends to carry it with him anyway, but they don't get very far before the end of night.

DAY THIRTEEN - (Day 36/Sunday)

The creature is gone the next morning, but Sai is distracted from further thoughts on this by Mello, who comes to him asking help in defending himself. The ninja agrees to help. At brunch, he speaks with Usopp about his previous conversation and other matters. It's revealed the following shift that he has visitors - Shin and Danzo, or this worlds brainwashed versions of such. The encounter leaves Sai quite shaken, as Sasuke soon found out. Dinner is spent in silence.

This evening, Sai is insistent on checking with Usopp before meeting with Mello, who was speaking with others beforehand anyway. The training session that follows is somewhat embarrassing due to the ninja's odd mood.

DAY FOURTEEN - (Day 37/Monday)

Today's breakfast is spent with Sai's roommate's cousin, while arts & crafts is spent giving Sakura the usual Landel's explanation. They then head to lunch, where they meet up with the rest of the team. Awkwardness ensues. He ends up following Sasuke to the showers for another small chat. Dinner involves a fairly serious discussion with Honey.

That night, Sai once again heads to Mello's room to help train him. Things are a bit more civil this time. He then head's to Usopp's, and the two of them head on out to the shed in the courtyard for a few supplies - thwarting an undine along the way.
