[The video flicks on while America’s trying to work out how the thing works, clicking buttons without even trying to read the manual first. He’s pulled the map out of his Backpack which isn't much help. It’s pretty obvious too, considering the clueless expression he’s giving it ( Read more... )

[France waves a hand dismissively, natural arrogance abounds.]

Find someone who does and team up with them. There should be a number of people around since it's Monday and everyone arrives at the beginning of the week.

What is your starter pokemon, anyways?

[Yeah, but...]

More than one person can ride them at a time? [He doesn't really believe that... though at the mention of his Pokémon... He pretty much beams.

Even if it's a little cold, he let's Wailmer out and points the video towards her.]

Liberty!

[And the Pokémon is pretty much as derpy as he is, as it rolls around him a little. Aww.]

You named a whale "Liberty."

[Coming from America, this makes an abstract amount of sense.]

[Hey, what is wrong with calling his wailmer "Liberty", huh? In fact he's just going to pout at him.] Yeah, why?

[It's only one of the three overarching concepts of France himself. And now it's a whale.]

[He shakes his head, smiling a bit ruefully, a little helplessly.]

No, it's nothing. It's definitely you, America.

[He smiles more sincerely.]

It's good to see you. It's been quite a while.

[But it's a whale he adores? That's got to count for something, right?]

Hey! Just wait until you meet her!

[He seems really happy about having her there too, n'aww.]

Though yeah, you too. This place is a bit weird, isn't it?

[France snorts.]

Oh, America, you have no idea...

[He grimaces slightly. America really doesn't.]

Don't try to eat the local wildlife.

[Yes, France definitely got that right...]

Why would I?

[Though actually, if he managed to get hold of a fishing pole, he probably would try to...]

[That question makes France give pause. For him, attempting to eat the wildlife had been the obvious solution for feeding a child Canada and himself when they first got here.]

Well...

[France makes a vague gesture, recovering himself.]

There's a lot of traveling by foot or by pokemon in this world. Sometimes it's necessary to live off the land.

[Well, if he was a bit younger, he might have done that. He's... kind of grown accustomed to having a fast food chain store on every corner now. Especially McDonald's.]

I gathered but... uh. [He glances at the... area he's in now.] It doesn't really look edible, y'know?

[France has gotten that impression. Then again, France spends a great majority of his time talking about living off the land, but he'd never want to actually go back to the days of subsistence farming. He likes chocolate and mangos and other things that come from tropical countries too much.]

[Still, he has a reputation to maintain.]

Some of the pokemon look similar enough to animals from our world to be considered edible. I believe the Netherlands had a cow-like pokemon called a Miltank, and it even gave edible milk. But the pokemon itself is not edible.

[Like hell he's going to tell America he attempted to eat Rattata and Pidgey.]

[Yeah, he's pretty obvious about it too, so. Saying that, it isn't like a lot of his country is farm like land anyway. But, whatever. Who doesn't? Chocolate is amazing, after all. As are cakes, pastries, pancakes---]

Cow... like. [Yeah, the face he's pulling? Pretty much What the fuck? right now. Though that's probably a good thing to keep secret, America might laugh at him.] So... what can you eat out here?

[Video] of_france November 18 2011, 00:28:48 UTC
[France inclines his head.]

It looks exactly like a cow, except it's sentient in a way that makes eating it seem like a crime, I suppose.

[France pauses, sincerely thinking about that.]

Well, there's probably still some seeds and edible mushrooms and such around this time of year. There is some edible fauna, although you're not given anything to equip you for hunting...

[Beat.]

You might want to just hurry to the next town.
