[The video flicks on while America’s trying to work out how the thing works, clicking buttons without even trying to read the manual first. He’s pulled the map out of his Backpack which isn't much help. It’s pretty obvious too, considering the clueless expression he’s giving it ( Read more... )

[Hey, isn't that -?]

[...He's totally going to die, isn't he? He cringes instantly and glances around a bit. Yeah, he really doesn't get this terrain that much. He at least knows what's poisonous in his land. Here? Not so much.]

If I make it... anyway. [Sigh. Why, oh why, did he eat that bento so early on?] It's like 3 days walk, isn't it? Maybe 2 to 2.5 if I run.

[France smirks a little at America.]

You will make it. Everyone makes it through Route 29. It's the most unchallenging of routes here.

[He licks his lips.]

I took it in just over two days without sleep and walking very fast.

[Well, of course he'll make it really. He's America. He's not going to do it that easily though, it's too cold and he's hungry, after all.]

Yeah, but China said that... my stamina's gone down. Or something.

[He's not really sleepy yet, but he's been taking like quick jogs and stuff along the way, so it probably will be 2 days. Or just over.]

[France blinks, tilting his head slightly in curiosity. That's not something he's heard from China before.]

Oh? What made him say that?

[America looks just as confused.]

There was something about people losing their special abilities or something. So apparently I'm not as strong and durable, I guess.

[France makes a noise of understanding and inclines his head.]

That's true. We're not as we usually are here. I'm not entirely sure why.

[Yeah, but it makes him pout a little.]

Some other guy I was talking to mentioned it as well, actually.

This place is exceptionally strange in a great many ways.

[France pauses momentarily. Well, America will find out about this anyhow...]

There's people here from other worlds, too.

Yeah. I mean Pokemon!

[Because America's close with Japan, of course he played Red/Blue/Yellow. Not to mention it's a video game. He totally collected them all too, so that's why he's a little confused about the Wailmer he has. And the layout of the place.]

Y'mean who aren't countries, right?

[France has to grin a little at that.]

The pokemon are about the only good thing, yes.

[He leans forward slightly, lowering his voice conspiratorially.]

There is someone here who went to the Moon on a whale.

[Or, at least, that's what France understood of that particular conversation.]

[Well, America's super excited about it. He can't help it.]

But they're pretty awesome! And hey, it's not like we're all alone or anything.

[Though he kind of misses Matthew already. He's never going to say it, mind you. But yeah.

At least that's nice and distracting because omgyesspace-]

To the Moon on a whale??

[France misses Canada, too, and would say so if it was brought up. And then he'd probably cry.]

[He nods, looking amused.]

I don't understand how that worked, but it's not the oddest thing I've heard. There's a group of people here who are some sort of sentient ponies in their usual existence.

[Yeah. It probably won't. Until Christmas, maybe, anyway. Then he'd be biting his lip to stop himself from crying.]

[He looks kind of in awe of this though.]

Wow... Wait, ponies?

[France will be a crying buddy for America on Christmas, no charge.]

Yes, ponies. Apparently they even have a fashion industry. I'm not entirely of all the details, but they're definitely as sentient as humans.

[Oh good. At least they'll both understand then. Besides, he wants to be near someone he actually knows for Christmas as well - it's unbearable to think about it otherwise.

Which just isn't him.]

A fashion industry? Really? That's actually kinda... cool.

[Nevermind the fact that he's going to end up travelling with the newest pony but just doesn't realise it at this point-]
