You're welcome, I was glad to. And thank you for taking the time to read it. I am glad you got to see a different point of view - and even if you were only replying to stickynikki originally, sticky and I have discussed this topic before (although, I don't think we got into such great detail, lol :-) ) so I feel confident that her view is on the same page as what I wrote (in my opening post, at least).
I can see how you might have felt stickynikki's comment lacked foundation - I know it doesn't, but that may not have been apparent in what she wrote :-). As I said before, I really appreciate your thoughtful and clear response. Actually, your response made me re-examine my position, and though I came to the same conclusion, I feel that my reasoning is much more thorough than it was before. I even have a bit more tolerance for the Doctor's behavior in s3 - although I still see the same things I saw before, I also see a lot more of the complexity of the situation; that is almost entirely the result of reading a logical and
