A few weeks with the Kia Soul EV

Back on March 18th I swapped from a Nissan Leaf (24kWh version) to a 2016 Kia Soul EV. At first I felt kind of weird about bailing on the Leaf (30kWh version) but after a few weeks of driving I know I've made the right decision. The Soul is so much better ( Read more... )

While I can't comment on the EV version of the Soul, I can say that Baron and I love our gas version so much, we're thinking about getting a second one in the future. I'm glad to hear the EV version is just as love-able!

The guess-o-meter is pretty wrong in my Mazda 3, too. I figured it would get better, but it assumes I'm getting the highway mileage always, as opposed to my average mileage. I'm not sure why they do that.

Alas, the Kia Soul EV isn't available in Illinois, dangit. Looking at the limited distribution of that and other EV models, I have a strong suspicion that it correlates to states that have a good EV rebate. Sadly, that's something broke-ass Illinois can't afford.

The Soul EV isn't available here, and Nissan has pulled the Leaf, so I put a deposit on A T3. :)
