I live in J.L. and it's pretty nice, as far as rooms go, and it's pretty good to be close to Newcomb. Definitely the nicest freshman dorm on campus. It's all girls, though, which gets sort of dull after awhile and really far from everything else. Also, if you're not into sorority stuff, the first part of spring semester is pretty miserable. In hindsight, I think I should have seized the chance to be in Butler, the honors dorm which, despite the crappy disgusting facilities has its boastable share of really fun, interesting people. All I can say is that I'm moving off campus for next year though.

My cynical answer would be it really doesn't matter, since you'll just get the opposite of whatever you request (they lost all the requests last year and matched everyone randomly)

Seriously though, I'm in Warren, which I hated to get for obvious reasons, but in reality, it's great now because it's got big non-standard-dorm-size rooms, fewer drunks (as a whole, but drunk girls are the worst), and guys can visit whenever anyway.

I live in Sharp and hate it. They have a new dorm that's being built behind Bruff and I think it will be open for Freshmen in the fall. It's suppose to be a residential college with a live in professor. So, I would go for that one.

i live in monroe, and love it. it's nothing pretty on the outside, nor on the inside, but i like the atmosphere, especially if you get a floor with a lounge and one that doesn't require and elevator. and, after they finally put grass on the quad, it's pretty sweet.
