My first lesson in Vietnam has been taught..hurrah! It was a one-on-one Corporate class with a dude that works with Cisco systems. Jeeeez, this is millions of times more rewarding than teaching in Korea. I'm not being watched, for one, or required to stand or play with stinking Liliputians for hours and hours. Happy Thanksgiving from Vienna!
Instead of turkey and punkin pie, I'm drinking cheapo German beer and enjoying free internet access at the Vienna airport, where I'll be until our flight for Doha leaves 5 hours from now. Vienna is a gloomy place, from what I can tell from the train and shuttle bus window. Full of fog and crows and grubby children playing soccer. I can see how this ( Read more... ) -
update
will be spending thanksgiving on an aeroplane. there is a stop in doha (i hope to at least get my passport stamped) and then we are staying in bangkok for a day before heading to hanoi. yay!
in other news, gerald costanzo, on of my prague profs and a fanastic poet has agreed to write me a letter for grad school. oh happy day! -
today was cool
the buda half of budapest is located on a huge hill towering over the danube. the castle and all of that kind of stuff is at the top of the hill. also on top of this hill is a little yellow house. if you go through the front door of this house, and follow the stairs downward, you'll eventually find yourself in a warm, damp cellar smelling of ( Read more... ) -

this is just to say that my life rules
So I've been hired by a kick ass school in Vietnam and I'll be moving to Hanoi in three weeks. Ryan is also gainfully employed in the same city. Lastly, I am sitting in an internet cafe in Transylvania, which is where we decided to spend Halloween this year. Transylvania. -

I'm a terrible blogger. I think the reason for this is that I don't really know how to encapsulate experience into one clever entry.
