My Darling Sister has gone to Thailand on her way to England. She will be there for two weeks, then in England and other various places around the world for a year. I want to do that again. It was fun. She's having a really good time so far ( Read more... )

I shouldn't despair at not having a Smeg. The Westinghouse is a most effective weapon in any arsenal for combating the evils of uncooked food.

That BBQ sounds pretty impressive. Are you sure you've managed to find all the functions. I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't come with its own waiter. It would have to fold away for easy storage, of course.

Camping sounds like fun it could be fun. Personally I find sleeping bags too warm for all but the chilliest of Australian nights.

It's been getting rather cold around 1am lately. I've been using a jacket in the mornings. Of course, by 10am there is no need.

I'm not certain, but it is possible that the BBQ transforms into a rather formidable, evil, flame-throwing robot if you push the right combination of buttons. It has got a button you can push and it will tell you how much gas is left in the bottle.

My new sleeping bag is a Black Wolf. It has a picture of a wolf on it, so I had to get that one. And it has a zipper down the bottom that opens so if it is too hot, you can poke out a foot to regulate your body temp. It is meant to be comfortable to 0 degrees, and bareable at an extreme of -5 degrees.

That sounds like a pretty cool sleeping bag. Of course it'd be so much cooler if it said "Bad Wolf" instead.

Remind me to keep a respectful distance from your BBQ, lest I accidentally press the Auto-destruct button.

Sounds like I might be in for a bit of a shock, as regards temperature, when I get down there. Oh well, as long as it's not warm and humid, it should be quite a welcome respite. Actually truth be told the weather here at the moment is really quite nice shorts and t-shirt weather. Of course my boss hasn't let me dress that casual since about a month after I got here, so I'm hanging out for the cooler months, when I can laugh at all of the shivering native Queenslanders. More so than I already do, that is. ;)
