How about the Joint Strike Fighter? We may soon see the end of the venerable Harrier, the still-relevant F/A-18, the F-16, and who knows what other platforms. Quite a remarkable sea change in progress. What's truly unbelievable is that the B-52 is still planned to be in the fleet for another dozen years or so, far surpassing the 50-year mark.
