Hurty-hurt

So last night at the gym, I was running on the treadmill. When there is no one waiting for a machine, I run 40 minutes even though the posted limit is 30 minutes. Yesterday, when I was at 30 minutes and counting, this guy comes into the room. Let me describe him for you. Physically, he is small, skinny, compact, white as parchment, with pale hair ( Read more... )

You know, that's the crazy thing...I've been on both sides of public exasperation so many times. I've been the metaphorical Gap shopper and the Gap employee; though I've never exploded, I have gotten huffy.

I'll admit I was a bit of an asshole in the theater on Sunday. I was on a self-date, watching a matinee of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, which of course is basically holy meditation for me. I got there early. I set myself up with popcorn on one side and Diet Coke on the other. I'd picked a perfect seat in the exact center. It was one of the few times I allowed myself the luxury of control - I do, on self-dates; I don't ask others to suffer my special needs. Then this mother, father and kid come in twenty minutes late. I see them hovering at one end of the aisle, so I put my hood up. Seeing this, of course they sent the KID to ask me to move over so they could sit together, even though there were other seats available. I huffily got up and moved. My reverie disrupted. The kid thanked me several times and then I felt very ( ... )

I generally avoid many confrontations, but words can and do hurt, no matter who says them. I'm had the X (being some I was supposedly in love with, and just atleast trusted) tell me stuff that I'm pretty certain she meant no harm by, but the way she said them was very confrontational and made me feel very bad. This was one reason why I left her ( ... )

Yyyyes! It is like Yoda taking the begative Sith energy and absorbing it, then pushing it back in a different form. People who act out of anger and misery expect everyone else to act out of anger and misery, and they don't know what on earth to do when you respond with civility and kindness.

Thank you everybuggy! I am a happy bitch, happy bitch :)

you're the happiest, most generous bitch I know. You are caring and careful and consideratee and kind.

AND you're wonderful and I adore you.

The manager at the coffee shop used to tell me that if people were upset about their coffee, and you offer to remake it for them, and they're still upset, that at the end of the day - they're upset about COFFEE.

I have been racking my brain (wracking my brain?) trying to think up a similar story, but without success. I did blow up at a UPS Store employee once who was giving me some atrocious customer service, and then I left the store and cried on the sidewalk over how pathetic I felt that I let myself get so worked up about such a little thing.

And as others have said, you are certainly a happy and generous bitch:)

Also, in your honor, a Star Wars icon (sorry it's from one of the new and crappier ones).

Indeed it does.

Ah, the best fandom in the world.

In fact, the keyword title I have for that icon is "TPM OTP" (otp=one true pairing, generally indicating a belief that two particular people are *meant* to be together and represent the pinnacle of pairings in a particular fandom).
