My comments are brief, because I have to work on something this morning, but I had to get 'em out...

In a stunning misjudgement, Naomi Watts wears shredded turkey.

Monica, I agree with you on many (Keira, Amy Adams, Salma, J. Lo, Naomi), and disagree on some (I think Uma looked gorgeous, hate Michelle Williams--although I know I'm the only one here--whose dress looked like a bad 70s prom dress with that ruffle and was POORLY accentuated with dark red lipstick, Helena Bonham Carter did not work for me). But most importantly, I think your Lyra/Pantalaimon comparison with the Charlize dress is the best analogy I've ever heard! I was calling it a tumor, but you've hit the nail on the head with that one. A+

Meryl Streep looked great!

excellent wrap-ups, ladies! i have little to add. my favorites were Meryl Street, Michelle Williams (LOVE the color!) and Salma Hayak--originally thought her boobs were weirdly smooshed in the dress, but in most of the pictures I've seen they look amazing. see below.

oh, and Rachel Weisz made me so sad. such a lovely lady, such a lovely time in her life, and she chooses a dress from Macy's Career Woman line. that is soooo dowdy!

oh, ONE MORE thing!

i thought i really loved Reese Witherspoon's dress last night, but the more i look at it today the more I think it just totally overwhelms her figure. it's such a heavy fabric, i think it would have to be a short or tea-length dress for it to have worked. i love her to pieces, though.

I'm too lazy to post pictures.

I watched a replay of the E! Afterparty special, where they interviewed Reese and she said she was going to give the Oscar to Ava who enjoys playing with Mommy's trophies and putting doll clothes on them. I feel a little manipulated, but what the hell-awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww! Reese is so cute!!!!

Then Joaquin ate her.

I'm going to go ahead and admit that, after close inspection, I actually love Diane Kruger's dress.
