Last week, Hunter and I went out to Jobs & Family Services to apply for assistance and turned in a stack of paperwork: 4 weeks pay stubs, passports to be copied for ID, utility bills, property tax statement, and assorted other papers. If you drive around you could get TONS of firewood for free. The city has been picking it up, but there are still houses with huge brush piles on their curbs. Too much fun. I thought they had stopped picking it up and wanted folks to take it to Roger Young Park; maybe they didn't put the word out very well ( Read more... ) -
Getting back to normal
Around 1:00p.m. today a city crew came by and took the top of the neighbor's treetop and the debris from my yard. Some areas of the city still don't have power, including stores-I wonder what how bad they smell ( Read more... ) -
My hometown tried to leave while I was at work!
This past Wednesday, I went to work and the morning news weatherman predicted thunderstorms in the afternoon. I don't like driving in them, or any other bad weather, but eh! what're you going to do about it? Not been doing much; working, puttering around the house, being sick... Nothing new.

Met with the diabetes doctor today. She informed me that the A1C was 11.5 and wanted to know why I've not been testing my blood, to which I made an ass of myself and started bawling.... It is embarrassing to me that I cannot afford test strips, meds, and anything else. I'm using up my reserve at an alarming rate and will soon be out of money... I ( Read more... ) -

Am scheduled for a mammogram this Thursday, and am also getting the TSH test the GP ordered over a month ago. It's only $ I don't have... what the hay! -
