I spent a few years in what felt like another universe. Took a while to adjust. Almost two years, actually. I still think sometimes that I haven't fully adjusted, and on some nights I find myself picking up the phone and I'm halfway through dialing an old friend's number before I realize that she's unreachable now.

... Anyway. Take it a day at a time. Don't expect everything to be the way you left it. While you were doing your thing abroad, things changed without you and that's okay. Deal with the way things are now.

Phew, I'm not the only one. Honestly, I think I'm not fully adjusted either from my first time abroad and that's why I went back overseas again... I'm sorry you can't reach your friend.

Thanks for the advice; it sounds pretty good. Whether I can actually pull it off is another matter.

The only time I had to deal with it ws after our first Digital world adventure. But I believe the sentiment would be different because we were all very desprate to get back home.
