Seeing Christchurch still trying to sort itself out and sitting through aftershocks a month on really brought home the kind of thing y'all must be going through in Japan. I think I needed that eye opener. (Working with the Farmy Army made me feel like such a city kid, though ( Read more... )

It gets done! Maybe not that well, but C's still get diplomas.

Unfortunately, these things won't go away for a while. My profs and Omori's law calculate that the aftershocks for this one will last a few years. It's a risk of living near a geologically active zone. Hope Christchurch will pull through okay and rebuild.

Glad you're helping out. Every pair of hands counts (or flippers), and I'm sure they appreciate it.

Oh boy, that's going to be fun. Do you think they'd be ones you can feel (even just little ones) for all those years, or would they go back to being those every day earthquakes no one notices?

Heh, Pukamon appreciated that. (Not that I didn't; Pukamon's just been kind of down about one shovelful of liquefaction being heavier than he is.)
