Some smart person I know says that given the strange weather lately, and given that hurricanes are powered by oceanic heat, hurricanes this year might make landfall in greater numbers than normal. But, people are saying the water temperatures aren't as high this year as they were last year. So, who knows for sure right now. The hurricane season hasn't started for the US yet, according to yahoo.jp.
