Women love to feel cared for; to feel special. The problem is that "special" requires exclusion. If everyone was special, then no one would be. Therefore, to attain a feeling of "special", women seek to out perform each other. It's like a no-holds-barred cage match called life.
Even thinking of it makes me hate the world a little more. I do not want to compete. period. I used to get the urge to, even though I didn't want to, but now I have no interest whasoever in fighting other women for attention or gratification. I think it's because I always lose. -your bitter shrew of a sister
In what ways do men compete, do you think? Apparently, according to a study I read, women compete in various ways, but the most frequent is by criticizing other females' attractiveness. (http://www.irishhealth.com/?level=4&id=5641) The way I have noticed most frequently, though, is how women try to out-shout, out-cute, out-ditz each other. Sometimes I sit back and watch it, try to understand it. I try not to get angry and annoyed, though some of these feelings slip through the barrier.
