“Jin was like a prince, he lives in a palace.” Born with silver spoon in his mouth, Kame was no stranger when it comes to luxurious things but he can’t help to be amazed seeing Jin’s house. It was way too huge that it looks like a palace. With a grin, he squeezed Jin’s hand and looked around as he bowed back to the maids lining up the way.
“So Kame… will be my princess?” He gazed lovingly in Kame. He really loves talking to Kame like this. He really loves when Kame was just being like himself and it made his heart beat crazier than ever before just imaging his everyday life will be in Kame’s side starting tonight.
Jin never thought it would be easy to take the younger out of the hospital since he knew how he loves the place so much.
Right after Junno and Tatsuya had given him the blessings, he got a help from Tatsuya unwillingly packing Kame’s luggage. He must not have forgotten a thing necessary-he keeps chanting the same as he keeps himself away from the truth that Kame will be in Jin’s side as long as he wants.
It didn’t take that long before they go because Kame was so distant with the nurses and doctors he used to be friends with. Yet, they understand him because Junno had explained them briefly Kazuya’s condition so they just bid their goodbyes with Jin hope to take care of Kazuya and he just happily assured them to give him the best Jin could get.
Jin had to book the flight back to Shikoku the next day in the morning so they need to stay in Akanishi residence for tonight and had the chance to let his family meet his beloved. Junno said Shikoku was Kame’s favourite place because of the ocean so the doctor had lent his house for them in the meantime. Besides, it was Junno’s advice to let Kame stay in a places he’d been with before so he won’t strain himself adjust into a new environment.
“There’s no way I’ll be a princess.” Kame huffed as Jin had lead him to sit in a sofa with him.
Jin chuckled, seeing Kame pouting was cutest thing he ever could look at forever. He slid his hand to the other’s slender waist as he leaned down to kissed his neck “Then what should I address you then?” he carefully asked.
“Prince.” Kame nodded, so determined as if it would cause a life when he lose to him “Yes, a prince because I’m handsome.”
Jin just laughed, burying his head in Kame’s neck “Oh really? Ok. Its prince Kazuya then.” he agreed though his mind screams ‘Princess Kazuya’ more, he just couldn’t take the fact behind that calling him like would trigger a longer conversation since he never lost an argument with Jin in a record.
“Ne, Prince Kazuya,” he purred, reaching Kazuya’s hand “Where do you want us to live?” he asked. He had to expect that it’s Shikoku since Junno mentioned it to him but he wanted it spitted from his own mouth.
“Anywhere as long as I’m with you.” Kame closed his eyes, leaning in Jin’s head “I imagine us making music for living. We could even live in streets.” Jin smiled at Kame’s thoughts.
“Baka,” It made his heart raise beats per second. Jin chuckled, holding the smaller frame closer.
“Aniki!” Both men turned their heads into the voice echoed from the stairs. Kazuya frowned and looked at Jin who was crowned with smiles.
Kame kept himself as behave as he could be, staying beside Jin as he was able to meet Jin’s family. Jin gladly took the woman in her arms and the two men after. Kame watched his boyfriend smiling like a little kid while the older man ruffling his hair. Kame wondered if he has his family... like Jin. How does it feel to have one? Should he ask Jin if he has a family before? But then, he chose to keep that inside and look at Jin. He loves Jin and Jin loves him too and he thinks that it’s enough to make him feel the presence of a ‘Family’.
“Mom, Dad... Meet Kazuya,” Kame woke up from spacing out as he heard Jin’s voice calling him. He stood up and gave his parents respect by bowing at them and properly introducing himself “I’m Kamenashi Kazuya.”
Jin’s mom fought the urge to glom the young man. She just let her smile elegantly shines while zipping her squeal under her throat. She knew this man ever since-how could she ever fail to recognize the son of the greatest musician of the modern time, Hayato Kamenashi? She’s also a follower for Kame before the young musician suddenly disappeared and it feels like a dream to have him in her house face to face. But she needs to conceal it. She and Jin talked this recently. Jin told her about Kame’s condition and she didn’t want to scare him for Jin’s sake.
The elder Akanishi cleared his throat as he saw her wife’s amazement to Kame “Ah, nice meeting you, Kamenashi-kun. This is my wife and my youngest son. Welcome to the family.”
“J-Jin already told us about your relationship,” his mom happily chirped. “So welcome to the family Kamenashi-kun!” Kame stepped back a bit as the woman surprisingly took his hand to hers. “Please don’t bother to call me mom!” her husband sighed, hoping that his wife didn’t scare the poor young man.
“Mom!” Reio chuckled as Jin’s faced reddened along with Kame. “W-We’ve talked about this right?” he tried to whisper to his mom as the mom cheerfully nodded.
“A-Arigato...” Kame strived to hide his heated cheeks in front of Akanishis. The hand holding him feels so warm and soft, really welcoming. “Akanishi-san.. ah..erm..mom.”
Jin’s mom almost died delighted as soon as Kame’s word reached her ears.
“Mom!” Jin yelled, grabbing her in his arms.

After he rearranged his bed, Jin guided Kame to rest there and told the younger to wait until he finished his shower. Kame was lying there silently waiting for Jin to come out of the bathroom. The bed was superbly amazing-he had never been into this kind of bed before (well, as afar as he could remember) . At first, he was hesitant to enjoy the softness of the bed until he convinced himself to. The hospital beds have nothing compare to Jin’s bed. It’s the same size but it’s more comfortable than the stiff metal platform and thin foam hurting his back most of the times. And it’s mostly invaded with Jin’s scent that he loves very much.
“Kame-“ Jin halted as heard Kame’s peaceful breaths muffled in his pillow.
A soft smile came across in lips before sneaked beside the younger, trying not to shake the surface to stir Kame but he seems like a failure as he saw Kame slowly opening his eyes, grinning at him.
“Oh, sorry.” Jin mumbled.
He’s cold and fresh from shower. Kame smiled, hugging Jin’s torso as if warming him up again “No, It’s okay.” The bed was comfortable than the hospital bed, but nothing beats Jin. He’s the most comfortable one Kame could ever think of. Because he is warm... and because he’s Jin. Kame loves him so much that he never mind when it began. He just closed his eyes, listening to his own heart beat sync into Jin’s. It’s the most wonderful song he never got tired of.
Jin automatically wrapped his arm around Kame’s waist, skinny as always. He looked about his ceiling, still couldn’t believe that he’s with Kame sharing the same bed, in his own room. It feels so good, it doesn’t smell like hospital, it smells like home that he hoped Kazuya will get used to. He lived in the hospital for too long without a single memory of what home really feels like but Jin promised that he would fill Kame’s missing memory in the way he could. Let him feel what the life would be like outside the infirmary and live like there will be no tomorrow.
“Kame...” Jin felt a lump suddenly grew in his throat, holding the smaller figure in his arms. Live like there will be no tomorrow... live like it will be the last chance you have. He didn’t like this feeling. He didn’t want Kame living like his last chance.
~
He blew the smoke above his cup, savouring the hot black coffee his apartment at the U.S.
U.S?
Jin frowned at the thought that he’s in U.S and the scene seems too familiar for him. He gawked at the cloak, then his eyes had saw the arm pointing at 8:00 and he has his work at 9 so he should be moving. His phone was ringing angrily at him, reminding him of several deadlines he needed to reach. He didn’t have time to waste further, Tat-chan might blow his top on him again for not reaching the deadline and-
But wait? Where’s Kazuya? Should he be in Japan with him?
“Jin!” Taken aback, the said owner of the name turned his head to the door. The voice sounds very familiar.
“Oh no you don’t-AKANISHI!” he roared like a monster, as always, this very strict and short tempered Tatsuya was really on work mode.
So that means he’s late? Tat-chan only came to kick his ass out of his flat when he’s getting late at work.
“OPEN THE FUCKING DOOR! AKANISHI!”
“5 minutes!” he did his very best to jump on his clothes, particularly a pair of sleeves and slocks he got bored of wearing. He’s been getting it on six day a week and he only had three pairs since his father didn’t gave him enough to buy for more.
“for heaven’s sake! Stop dawdling around!” Tatsuya Ueda, his always-on-beast-mode department superior hissed, trying his best not to literally kick his ass off somewhere “Not all the times you’ve given enough time to do something, Akanishi. Time is not always by our sides.” He reminded.
"Make his last days a happy one Jin, he deserves it."
“Kazu…” Jin whispered.
“What?” Tatsuya was surely getting impatient seeing his inferior/friend getting his head flowing on air right now.
“Kazuya,” Jin repeated, eyes getting firm on the shorter man “Where is he? Where’s Kazu?” Jin trapped him in his hands, grasping his shoulders.
Jin heart rose so fast that he could feel it carved out on his chest. He really needs to see Kazuya. Jin really see Kazuya if he’s okay… he couldn’t keep track of what’s really going on now. He’s getting a hard time distinguishing the reality from a dream and he doesn’t know why. Just last night he remembered sleeping beside him and moments after he saw himself in his old apartment with his own life before meeting him. He felt his head spinning a bit, getting lost. What’s happening?
Tatsuya’s eyes somehow soften toward his, making his heart pumped upward that it seems blocked into his throat. “It’s been years since you…” he hesitates to finish while taking away his eyes to him.
“Me what?-Tell what was happening? I was on the same bed as him on Japan and a minute after I saw myself here then I-“
“I never thought the time will come that you will remember him…again,” his careful eyes pinned Jin with such gentleness and pain.
Jin never bothered to retort at the moment. He just looked to Tat-chan in pure innocence and lost somehow. He couldn’t understand why Tat-chan suddenly became like that when he came to ask where his cousin was. Then turned out saying like he forgot Kazuya? How come he could forget the person who taught him the really love is? How could he forget such person whom he loved the most?
“Junno asked me not mention anything about Kazuya until you remember him yourself,” he gulped as Jin observed. Jin held his breath like for many minutes, he couldn’t remember. His mind was filled nothing but bewilderment… and Kazuya. Where is he? Why he’s not here beside him? What did he forgot? Is tat-chan telling him that…
“You are suffering from selective memory syndrome,” Jin got froze as Tatsuya managed to proceed “You had these five years ago… when Kazuya… when he passed away.”
He felt numb. Froze like an ice on his spot, Jin could feel his heart might stay on his throat forever. It’s not real, no it’s not real… Jin keep telling it to himself as he had tears screaming on his eyes. It feels hot enough to tell that this is not a mere dream that this is… real…
“You tried your best keeping his last days as happy as you could.” He said, choking in tears “So now that you remembered…”
No. But this isn’t real.
“He just wanted to say…”
Please don’t do this to me.
I love you so much that I could die from it…
“Thank you for loving me.”
“Jin!”
The owner of that name stirred and waved his hand, as if telling the other one that he’s fine just sitting there and watch him like he’s the only thing he could see. The sun was proudly shining against the pale skin, tiny bits of water are sprinkling in his every kick and step landing at the smooth sands tickling his soles. He really loves the sounds of waves singing in his ears. Laughing, he put his hands on the clear water as he got cold from it. The sun was hot while the water is cold-what a wonderful combination of sensations.
And he’s missing it so much. He’d never remember the last time since he went here, but there’s a part of his memory telling him that he’s been here and he’s not alone. Jin was with him.
Kazuya always see Jin in his vague memories. When all of it had been getting confused and unclear, Jin’s presence always reminding him about something that he could hold on to.
"If you forget, I'll be always here next to you to remind you every single detail of it."
Jin’s words are the only thing he could visibly comprehend. Like it was his only light to the dark path of his past. Jin’s presence could keep him complete when he shouldn’t be. Living without a single memory left when waking up was more than a blind. It always feels like the very first time, feared of what way will he go when he didn’t have direction at all, when Kazuya were left with nothing of his past apart from Jin, but one way or another, he chose to be satisfied with it instead. He never mind living like this for the rest of his life just to be with Jin.
The man resting not so far away from him smiled back. There’s no way he could ever forget that smile. Probably it was one in a million reasons why of all the people he could be familiar with. The way his pinkish lips stretch for him was so lovely that he won’t get tired of looking. So smiled back, hoping that it could reach the older one.
Junno was always saying that Kame loves the beach. So for today, he brought the younger man to the nearest beach in their flat. The smaller one was indeed happy when they came here. Somehow he could feel that though Kame kept telling that he loves staying at the hospital, still he yearned for the outside and Jin was feeling so happy just to see Kame from a far playing like a kid.
"Make his last days a happy one Jin, he deserves it."
