in minami-aiki the bells went off at 8am i think at at 12noon and at 5pm every day and maybe even at 8pm? to tell people to go home from work and to have lunch and have breakfast and things...they were amazing!! the PA system went all over town, because most houses didn't have telephones and things it was the only real way to communicate with the community..xxx

see that system i can understand... in a rural area it might be useful. here it is just in select places. where i work is near roppongi, but one time i heard it in akihabara too. it's funny that i recognise it. but i don't really know what is supposed to happen at 5pm- it definitely isn't home time...

p.s nothing happened.

xx
