twigLimbs update: I have now received all the supplies I need to start production, and just need to do some quick local shopping. Hopefully I'll be able to take the trip to see Kaye in the next couple of days ( Read more... )

Thank yoouuu! She looks awesome even without a faceup I think.. although I am in talks with a couple of artists. Think I have some serious neck-thickening to do, and I just might use silicone and resin to do it, instead of tinted apoxie.

When Ron goes off to his night shift I'll take a comparison shot with the Exousia sculpt I got last week too... it is definitely more stylised and charicature-like.

I am seriously thinking about selling all my dolls (except Eleuthera) and just having loads of Angelina's with different looks. Maybe two or three.. (or five?) is enough though.

Still not sure if any of the bodies I have planned will be right, looking forward to receiving my FeePle, whenever it will ship, and seeing the UniReal female when she comes out, plus of course now I am keen on Denny's Minimee body for around $250 as it will be made especially for these dolls. Then there is always my own sculpt that I am working on, if all else fails to impress.

I agree, the sculpts are exquisite by themselves.

So I take it you've had a "Eureka!" moment here where you have found this was the face, the doll you've wanted all along? Wow! That's quite a strike of lightning! As usual, I can't wait to see your progress!

Well certainly I did want an AJ doll ever since (before, actually) I got into bjd... I have several 1/6 sculpts that may or may not really look like her, but the larger scale is much more fun. I think at first I just wanted 'a doll', and then gradually I realised an AJ doll would be awesome, but I never found the right sculpt, because I wanted a very close likeness. Denny's project is heaven-sent.. it even took me till the second order before I realised I could get my girl this way.

oooooooooooooooooo CONGRATS. She's lovely! *L* You need one for each different look! So... at least 5. ;)

Do each of these different looks need their own body? I would be like Trevor Goodchild in the "A Last Time for Everything" Aeon Flux ep...

I'd say yes, but only if its YOUR body ;) That way its uh... a bit... uh... cheaper???? *shrug*

Nah, maybe just a different HEAD for each look, so she can be vampy, scary, soft,... any of it! and all you have to do is change the head... and the outfit. :3

oooo.... you going to give her body the dragon tattoo that once read "billy bob"?

LOVED Aeon Flux. Nutty show, butloved it.

Yes it would have to be my body... I wish she had faceplates instead of heads though. I definitely want to explore a few of my favourite looks for her, but so far I have one picked out for the first faceup.

Wow, she's amazing! Congrats! She looks even more detailed than the preview pics!

The neck does seem a little big, but I guess since she's so realistic she needs a wide neck to look good?

Either way, she's awesome! XD

Yeah I think she would look better on a thicker neck, but then the rest of the body has to be proportionate as well. According to my maff-skills she needs a 10.5-11cm neck, and those are a lot easier to get for male dolls. But I got plans >:D

Wow... she looks amazing! (the lips! THE LIPS!) I can see the appeal of having a little army of Angelina dollies with different looks/faceups etc. That'd be one sexy looking army. Heh.

It seems like the second batch dolls are all rather large! Her neck hole sure is huge (Pi's is relatively small, sitting high on SD13 boy body). You might be able (with your mad modding skilz, yo) to use an boy torso or something?

Can't wait to see the different looks she's gonna get. ^_^

Her head is actually still a bit narrow next to Eleuthera so not sure what to do with that. I think a realistic head calls for a thick neck, but whatever I end up doing I will work something out.

Holy crap, she's GREAT. How in the hell can they charge so little for these heads?? The sculpt is incredible, the lips! The LIPS! They are dead-fucking-on!!! Amazing.

I have no idea what their costs are but the sculptors must really love what they are doing. I don't think anybody is making a profit from this thing.
