I went to Mt Rainier! I started the day off following my GPS directions for the quickest way to Mt Rainier National Park. Where it took me is to the ranger station at the most remote northwest edge of the park.

Vacation Day Five
So, again, not much happened though I did go with my nephew and volunteered to serve lunch at the local senior center. That was a hoot. Stephen has been doing this since he turned 19 and he just turned 23. His mother told him if he didn't have a job, he needed to volunteer and has done it ever since. Vacation Day Four
One word will describe yesterday HOT!!! It got up to 95 degrees. By the time I went to bed last night, it had cooled down to 83.5. Anyway, I holed up in my brother's house. Vacation Day Two
Sunday was spent with my lovely SIL, Silvia. We started the morning with a walk down the street to the park. There is a very large community garden up there. We walked around examining all the fruits and veggies in various stages of growth. Vacation Day One
The travel to Seattle had a few delays. Started off with a call from Southwest with a notice that my flight was going to be delayed for about a half hour. By the time I got to the airport the delay was 15 minutes, but that turned into a half hour. The flight from the OC to San Jose was uneventful. In fact, I slept through part of it. I texted my son, Nick, Happy Easter and I got a response. I am baffled. I texted and called on Thanksgiving, Christmas and NewYears with no response. What changed?

Progress
Laura's quilt is making good progress. She still has a long way to go, but she will have the top finished and she can show it to the new mom on Saturday at the baby shower. The baby is due in April and she might able to get it done by then. One sidebar thing that has come out of this is I am remembering how easy the Husky Star is to use. It ( Read more... ) -
Get to Work
Picked up my simple sewing machine from Tim's so Laura can use it to make her quilt. Took the Buster dog with me. He enjoyed the ride, I think. While I was up in the Fullerton area, I drove through The Hat and picked up a Pastrami sandwich, yum. Now I need to quit surfing the web and get busy. So much to do ( Read more... ) -
Where is my rain?
All I can say is we are not getting it. i was looking about the NOAA website; we in Cali should be very afraid. There are areas in SoCal that have had 0% of there annual rainfall. No where is over 10%. It's going to be a really rough summer if this keeps up.
