Awesome. This episode rocked all that is good and then some.
"I'm looking for a man."
"I bet you are."
Snicker.
"Like the blanket" and subsequent pout of adorkable goodness.
"Soulectomy"
Too many others. Too good.
Can Dean always wear the hat and duster? Nuf said.
And the shootout? Fantastic. Always knew Dean was a great shot. Pleasure to see.
Samuel Colt was fascinating. Hanging it up. Quitting. Sam saying you can't do that. Ever. Such lovely continuity and growth.
Cas's storyline is paralleling Sam's from S4. End justifying the means. Not so much. And when Dean finds out? Oh, please let that confrontation be paid off really well.

Oooh, you are right. I wonder if Dean will be as forgiving of Cas as he always has been on Sam? It will be interesting to see how this plays out.
I'm thinking that he won't forgive Cas at all, and ONLY forgave Sam because Sammy is his precious little brother. But with these writers, one never knows.
-Okay, so angels DO draw energy from human souls just as so many people have been speculating. We're like little battery packs for them, huh?
I find that interesting but weird. Also, like someone on my friends' list pointed out, why didn't Cas do this power up in S5?
-Cas is evil now? I don't buy it. For one thing that would mean that his time on this show is just about done and I don't believe the show runners are any more likely to cut him from the cast than they are Sam or Dean.
I don't buy it either. I just feel like he's in a position where he is forced to do questionable things because it's war and in war people make hard choices.
"Also, like someone on my friends' list pointed out, why didn't Cas do this power up in S5?"
Yeah, they've been consistent in their inconsistency about how powerful a human soul is and what it can do and so forth. At least they've made up their minds about a few things and are going to move along.
I think he'd still consider it 2011 regardless of what year it is for him, personally. Like when they fill out paperwork for their credit card scams (if they still do those) or write checks (God, I'm dating myself here) he'd still identify the year correctly.
I can buy this. It's Sam's mistake and not the Show's because for Sam the year passed by in a blink. Would have been worse if Dean said it.
That said, I read somewhere else that Fate's ledger where she was crossing things off had a lot of 2011s in it, too, although a later month than we are at. But I haven't double checked this to verify.
Actually, now that I think about it, I think it was Show's mistake -- unless they're only six months ahead of us, not a full year? Oh, this is going to give me a headache. Heh.
Eek..I wonder if Cas is the next Big Bad...awww, I kinda loves him! And I loved that he and Bobby had scenes together!! As for this postie, I give it a cookie - bonus two for you!
I really doubt Cas is going to be a Big Bad because 1) he's too freaking powerful, he could smoosh our boys with a wave of his hand or send them back to 1850 for the rest of their lives, etc. and 2) Sam and Dean would have to kill him and I don't think the writers want him gone until the very last episode.
Also, Show is on notice from me for killing WAY TOO MANY secondary characters. I think even they have noticed that they've ABOUT RUN OUT.
That's pretty much my reaction. There was so much goodness crammed into one episode my head just about exploded like Bobby's soul could have.
I love Justified too, so I'm in the same happy place as you. Don't know if you saw it, but dugindeep has an extremely convincing argument about why Jensen and Timothy should get a gig together.
