I always have trouble due to having wide feet. I have a had some success by going to Blacks or Millets and getting Cross country or Fell running trainers they're not as light weight as proper sports trainers but they fit and last really well.
failing that both of you goto the surgeon to get the webs removed from your feet :P
tbh best thing is get your feet properly measured and then try a few styles
when i got measured for snowboarding boots was amazed at how much effort goes into properly fitting and measuring you over a crappy sports or shoe shop.
Go to Run and Become on Wood St (opposite the bus station)
They will fit the trainers that are right for your feet rather than trying to get you to buy the most expensive ones. This will involve them watching you run up and down the pavement so they can see if things are right, and you will feel like a berk but it's totally worth it.
You'll end up paying £60-£90 for the right trainers, but your body will thank you for it.
