This is how it goes, some nights...
Last night around 9 pm or so, the roommate knocked on my door.
Roommate: Do you have a copy of Ghostbusters?
Me: Yeah.
Roommate: Is there a scene where Rick Moranis has a spaghetti strainer on his head and says "yes, have some?"
Me: (long pause) ...yes.
Roommate: Ok, thanks. A joke makes sense now. (goes back to his room) -

As of 7:45 CST, I am officially an uncle.

This is the view from the window at work. The big honkin' bridge in the background is only barely visible and the roads are pretty covered since the snow is falling so quickly. The trolley rails are somewhat clear. There's probably an inch or two at the moment, and we're expected to finish with 4"-6".

A Practice in Criticism
Finished reading American Psycho, and I’m not entirely sure what it’s about. That’s probably a good thing.
For the uninitiated, the Bret Easton Ellis novel American Psycho tells the tale of Patrick Bateman, a young and very wealthy Wall Street executive who is also a serial killer in 1989. There is a movie adaptation starring Christian Bale.

The soda vending machine did not steal a quarter from me today, unlike the previous two days. This is the only positive thing in my life over the past several weeks.
ETA: Got an email today that was a significant relief. Also, when my boss fussed at me, it was mild. So far, so good, so Friday.
