meet me in the studio letting go

Tigers

What are we now but voices
who promise each other a life
neither one can deliver
not for lack of wanting
but wanting won’t make it so
We cling to a vine
at the cliff’s edge.
There are tigers above
and below. Let us love
one another and let go.

Also I have been looking for a red toggle coat with a hood and a white sweater with a thick cable-knit pattern since freshman year in college.

I WILL ATTEMPT TO USE MY POWERS AND PROCURE THESE FOR YOU.

LOVE READING ABOUT PEOPLE'S YEARS. ♥

Ack, I still need to finish 'Exit Through The Gift Shop'. Brainwash gets on my nerves so I've been watching in spurts. I love the whole street/low-brow art stuff, though. Also, outputmessage is amazing, high five.

♥ it always feels so self-obsessed but then I'm just like, WELL, WHAT IS LJ FOR, ETC.

Exit Through the Gift Shop is so wonderful because there is SO MUCH SECOND-HAND EMBARRASSMENT. I also love the bit where MBW tries to explain his True Love for Banksy and is just like "I really like him. He is good." over and over again.

I am waiting for January just so I can play N.Y.R. on repeat. :D

I cut myself on the razor all the time. Actually, the other day I waved the razor too wildly in the direction of my face and managed to cut myself on my nose, where it bled and bled (seriously, what was I even doing waving the razor around like that?) It totally does not count.

Colm Toibin is amazing. I have yet to read The Master but as I love Colm Toibin and Henry James, I am basically so excited that I am even considering wandering into my bookshelves and finding my copy of the book (a quest that may take hours, with my woeful lack of organization).

WHY WERE YOU WAVING YOUR RAZOR AT YOUR FACE omg nance what if you cut your nose off, then who will marry you

I love love love The Master so much, especially since Henry James as a writer doesn't really move me? But man, the way Colm Toibin just so easily sketches out a hesitant moment, a feeling of restraint, the desire to reach out-- and failing-- it's so tender and delicate and I want to be him when I grow up.

I owe you such a long overdue phone call, ahhh. I've decided that I'm terrible at relationships/friendships. :( I don't know what's wrong with me. I absolutely will see you in Chicago in January. & I really hear you on your 2011 resolutions.

YEAH YOU DO, KIDDO. I can't wait to see you (and Lin)! I'll have to think of something fun to do, though, sigh, to match up to your stylish life. :D

Oh, Lin's not coming! It would be just me! & my life is far from stylish - it's felt so boring lately... my only saving grace is food. :(

GURL YOU ARE FROM H-TOWN? Or did you just go to Rice? It is kind of a hard city to leave -- I had to come back for a summer this year just to give it a long, second goodbye hug.

Also that is a lot of traveling and a lot of firsts! IMPRESSIVE.

I just went to Rice! I'm actually from Carmel, Indiana, which is far less cool. BUT YES, it's a really hard city to leave, and now I'm all sadface again just thinking of the restaurants, and the BBQ joints, and the random grocery store BUT ALSO HAMBURGER SHACK places, and the skeevy dive bars--

:((((
