i just watched the darjeeling limited. gosh, i really do like wes anderson films. i know it's kind of bandwagon-y to say that but i really do. i really like how blatant they are. how sweet. and i think angelica houston is so very pretty. and i liked how often they showed adrien brody's skinny legs. -

so grant is applying for this scholarship and asked me to write a "character recommendation" essay for him. i have never written an easier essay. i have attached it below and, honestly, you might barf unless you actually know the amazingness that is my brother. and even then, avoid eating lost of creamy pasta before reading....

one of my fave first graders brought me a gift that she had made at home (!!!). it was a rice krispies box that she had turned into a 3D bird and stuffed inside was 1. a double-sided crayon drawing with a frog and a fort and a bunny on one side and 2 octupi and a deep sea creature on the other 2. two cut out hearts with designs on them and 3. i very much enjoy short love affairs with mindless, sweet beach reads.
& nights like this, where it is almost midnight and still warm enough to have the screen door open? make me want summertime and a porch swing and a boy to drink wine and laugh at/with. -

i will be working in rhode island this summer. i don't want to be the sort of girl who didn't take every opportunity life offered her. especially for pride. that is just silly and petty. and, as travis graciously reminded me, why would i care if people are like "whaaa? why does she have her master's and is working as an RA?" i have to live with ( Read more... ) -
