So ends my 4th or 5th day of basicly no sleep.... something is really wrong with me, it becomes night and i stay up all night i'm having to force myself to go to sleep... and it doesent work half the time. I'm getting really worried, and all this stress and drama can't be helping anything any..... maybe the dread of the hollidays are really getting ( Read more... )

each person has different methods that work for them. the first thing to usually try is to get on a more regular schedule for food, exercise, and rest if at all possible. don't eat or exercise too late in the evening, but try to get some workout earlier in the day. don't consume caffeine, especially in the afternoon and evening. avoid other stimulants as well. including ADHD meds after the morning. also, try to get off the computer an hour before you want to sleep. it messes with your brain pattern to make you more awake.

if these changes don't help, there is a variety of other methods if you can figure out why you are having trouble sleeping. one of the things for me is that i have a problematic back/neck so sometimes just taking a painkiller before bed can help if it might have to do with that. i would also recommend taking a homeopathic remedy called calmsforte which can help regulate your sleep schedule. you can get it at new leaf or the herb room, i would guess.
