So many fluffy images subverted by the tragedy that is Ianto and Lisa.

I was struck by this:

"Mostly, Ianto wants to love someone, especially when sometimes it's so hard to love Lisa now, when he doesn't know who she is anymore. It's like loving an idea, a paper cut-out."

Oh Anon, how I love this. Everyone else ahead of me quoted all the lines that really smacked me in reading this.

And sometimes now, sitting in the dark, away from ice cream men and directions to Cardiff Castle, and listening to the pipes down in the room he has for her, where she lives on wires and machines, sometimes now he doesn't know if he still loves her, or if she can still love him, and under the sound of lung machines and heart monitors, he wishes he didn't.

Heartbreakingly beautiful, Anon.

I love He isn't painting his lids pink for her. There's a lot of really great phrasing here but that one is just so very evocative.

Oh anon. I started tearing up when Ianto went down to see Lisa and then I kept crying all through the end because jesus. He's so broken and lost and alone and you've conveyed that through the simplest little things, and the symbolism of the elephant in the room and the paper hearts and paper tigers and enemy fire. Even though I know how Ianto and Lisa's story ends, you drew me right into the moment that you're writing about, and it was beautiful. xxx
