Honestly Chris, Nothing in your life is that bad to complain about. And you just have a pessimistic attitude about everything in Duluth. You can totally do anything to improve your situation, you would just rather sit there and complain about it. Get involved. I am sure there is plenty of great organizations all around Duluth and the college that would make a huge impact. This is nothing personal, you just tend to complain about politics, the government, your situation, but honestly the problem is you and people like you who just sit there and complain instead of getting up and doing something to make it better. Don't complain about it and do nothing about it. How do you know going to the cities is going to make everything allright and end all your problems. My guess is you will still be in debt, still have restrictions, etc. Stop dreaming in the past and regretting things you have done. Cause its not going to make things better. Maybe a new life would be good. Start all over. Keep the friends that matter the most, don't let ( ... )

Hey sorry, some of this may have came out to be a little harsh, it wasn't meant to be that way. I am just saying you have to make the best out of every situation and that limiting that by saying you are in a situation undesirable such as being in Duluth for you is a cop out. Enjoy life, you only have one, and you will only be in this situation once, so live it up the best you can. and use the experience to let you grow into a better person.

I know how you feel about minneapolis.. so much action here and just the atmosphere livens you. IF it makes ya feel any better, i can't graduate til winter now too!! ...maybe next spring..

going across the country IS one of the greatest thigns you could possibly look forward to too. looking forward to happy things always keeps me alive! like "oh man, i cacn't wait for that, it's gonna be so great." and i'm not gonna tell you to stop complaining and make you feel worse.

stress sucks.

but seriously, don't let anything manipulate you, your parents, your debt, the city, school, jobs, your program or anything or anyone else becasue it just makes you depressed. Somewhere in that head of yours you know exactly what kind of person you want to be and honesly, that is all that matters. jobs and money come and go, people places, all you have to do is make sure you are being the person you want to be. -To thine own self be true-. and don't let anything change that, not even me.

i miss you. and i can't wait until we can share a city together.

-Chris.

I'm gonna have to echo some of the sentiments from the first poster named "anonymous". Particularly the part about how moving out of Duluth won't necessarily change your financial situation or your feelings of helplessness. Take what you have an enjoy it, you never know what will happen tomorrow.
But, MOSTLY I'm writing this so you'll know I'd put my name on any posts I make to your livejournal (ie, I am NOT responsible for that first post) I'd say stuff to your face.

I think it's interesting and i have to argue against the "atmosphere" concept. I definately think one can go crazy in a setting and feel trapped.. However, chris you do have a car. Perhaps some jaunts up the coast might set you at ease? I know i was trapped in cork, and hated it most of the time and only after four months was i about to scream. Wouldn't have been so bad if i were in DUblin, which is why i made trips dwon there all the time. I know what i'ts like, so i can totally relate to you. For me, it DOES matter where you are that can make a huge difference. May not fix everything, but things wouldn't be so bad.
