that is the title of my essay. in which i will attempt to argue FOR gays and lesbian to serve openly in the military. .... this is a hard essay for me to write, mainly because i don't know how to feel about the issue. apart of me is for, another is against, and yet another is "don't ask don't tell

i wanted to post on it a while ago. i actually did a paper on gay marriage my sophomore year i highschool that proved to be really interesting. i think you've got a good start. i mean you said your teacher was born jewish, and the first thing that came to my mind is that it's been proven (or there is a theory) that people are born gay, not something they chose; just like most orthodox religions, you're born into them w/out a choice. i think that would really catch her eye. ha and u could even talk from an extreme point of view and bring up german nazi's and state if you take out all of the gay's in the military it's similar to knocking out all of the jews and gypsies during WWII...but i would say this would be a very extreme point, and you'd have to be really strong to go against her later when she corrects it. i can't remember the exact word for that type of argument but they do work.

i'd also love to see the end result of this paper...good luck
