[RL with Zechs] [Backdated to Shadow Event]

After taking leave of the others who'd come to help Zechs, Tyki took his husband back to their apartment, which wasn't far from the dungeon Zechs' shadow had created. He'd have taken them to their island, or their house in Switzerland, but frankly he didn't want to brave the dangers of the TV world when they were both so exhausted ( Read more... )

Tyki tried to remain steadfast against the anger, to take it and absorb it and make no effort to defend himself. Zechs was right - he had pretended to be honest, and he had lied. He deserved every bit of this anger, not as a martyr, but simply because Zechs was right to be angry, and there was nothing truthful he could say to shield himself from it.

He nodded, his gold, cat-like eyes sliding away. "You're quite right. That's...why I realized I had to tell you, when I accepted my shadow. I guess I believed I had no choice, and that it was merely temporary until I could find a way to escape it again. But that's not really true."

Nodding now, Zechs reached to grab the cigarette from Tyki's hand - with the intention of then slamming it into the ash tray. Afterward, he took both of the Noah's hands in his. His expression was incredibly stern, though with less ice than what might have been expected. The anger had yet to diminish.

"Tyki, I have never wish to force a change upon you. When you had stopped working for that Earl, certainly I was happy - for I believed, and I still do believe, you could be happier were you not driven from within to fight the humans you also love." Zechs kept his eyes on Tyki's not allowing him to look away. He'd bring a hand up beneath the man's chin if he needed to. "But if you have that Noah inside of you, a part of you? I understand how it is as much of a limb as your leg or right arm. I will never make you sever it from yourself. And unlike your Earl, I will not make you chose between these lives ( ... )

Tyki let him take the cigarette, though he felt even more naked without it. He hesitated.

"I know you never intended to force me to change," he said, reaching out to run his fingers into Zechs' hair. "I didn't mean to accuse you of that. But I also know that it makes you happy to turn away from the Noah, not just because you fear for my safety, but because you want me to be a good man. And I wanted to be that good man, for you."

He nodded. "I won't keep you in the dark anymore. I know you might not be able to believe me right now, but I'll prove it through my actions."

"Tyki," Zechs said more softly, the anger slowly beginning to soften itself to frustration, "You are a good man. Even with the other impulses and sides of your personality within you, accepting it does not change the very fact of this. From the outset I had seen this goodness and humanity within you. It had drawn me in, as much as your darkness ( ... )

Tyki sighed, wrapping his arms around Zechs and settling his head on the blond's shoulder. "I didn't mean that there isn't goodness inside me. There is... but like you said, there are two sides to me. I can't move towards one side without abandoning the other. And I've been trying to move towards one side for too long."

Quietly, he added, "I don't want you to just stay with me because you fear abandoning me when I'm in danger. But I love you, and I want you with me for that reason."
