He came a little later than expected, knocking on the door with the air of one somewhat fatigued. There was that extra hitch, the slightly longer note that gave him away.

"Nick?" he asked. "I'm Tyler. Come on in."

He nodded in the affirmative, pulling a bottle of (very good) wine from the crook of his arm in offer to his host. Some things might have changed in the world, but Nick was an old man in more ways than one.

"Tyler," he greeted with a bow of his head, "thank you. A pleasure to meet you. My apologies for missing the picnic. I'm afraid it was... impossible for me to attend."

But he stepped in.

Tyler took the wine and gave the label a once-over. He wasn't a wine expert, but he'd been out with Tony enough to know what was good and what was not. This was good.

"You didn't have to do this," he said, though he wasn't giving it back. "Not a problem. I guarantee you, you didn't miss much except a swarm of teenage hormones."

He lead Nick to the couch. "Wine? Coffee?"
