I feel much better now.  I went to the gym and ran 3.7 miles, at an 8:34 min/mile rate with 1 minute 8:00 intervals.  From the 5K my mile pace was 8:39, so my goal for the next one I do is to be under 8 minutes per mile.

Yesterday I got the Biggest Loser Cardio workout. Stop laughing.  I am entering phase 2 of the weight loss.  Weight loss, the ( Read more... )

Good luck. I know how hard it can be to lose that last 20 pounds. I lost 50 pounds awhile back (2000, I think?) and I got to 180, but where I really needed and wanted to be was 160, but I just never got past that barrier and eventually crept upward again a few years later. Now I'm back down to 188--close to where I started, and lower than I've been in at least 4 years--but my goal this time is to work like hell until I get to that 160. I've never seen those numbers before but I know I can.

Huzzah for 188!! It's so good when you can say 'I haven't been this weight in...and measure in years." I instituted the "scary weight" system. Once I got into a 5 pound range, I am not allowed to go above it, and if I do I crack down on diet/exercise. I just got lazy about letting myself occassionally get about 170.

phase two is so fucking hard. i really hope that i can keep myself motivated enough. i've been thinking about it a lot lately. we should discuss later.

also, and call me crazy, but i don't think you even have 20 lbs on you to lose. seriously.

you could try powering through it. it takes a solid 6 months to a year to get over and running related body stress i think. or if you can't take it elliptical and arc training are good. you probably know that.

Maybe the weight can stay the same, if muscle replaces fat. Or lightweight aluminum robot arms replace my fleshy bone filled ones.
