DNS

I am very happy with TWC customer service, but I get really frustrated when their DNS appears to completely crash, and it can't find Facebook or Google or something similarly simple. It'll just keep looping me back to their Roadrunner search page, "We couldn't find www.whatever.com." And then there's a recursive link to it right there. *sigh ( Read more... )

If their DNS going down is a frequent issue, consider using OpenDNS or a similar service. It's free and it should do the trick.

Regarding Island of the Sequined Love Nun, and the Messianic thread that runs through it and Lamb. He said Coyote Blue is in the same vein of spiritual exploration. Of course, this will also mean that once I've read Coyote Blue, I will have read those three books in opposite order as they were published.

When I first signed up with Comcast (well, MediaOne at the time), the DNS lookups were annoyingly slow. I changed my DNS within 3 days and have never looked back. This was 10 years ago.

Currently I use OpenDNS. I used to just use MIT's DNS servers. :)
