I love this chapter SO MUCH. Domesticated!Cesc is such a lovely image. & you included Xavi! & yay Iker's mom (so you can't hurt him AGAIN Iker, okay, you ass)! & your author's notes! Still my favorite.
i had a huge grin on my face for most of this update, god i loved it. domesticity is just. i just. it's what i love to read, when it's well done, you know? because too heavy handed and it just ends up being sticky syrupy sweet and no good. this is perfect.
Instead, he watches Cesc root around for a piece of paper for a while until finally he just cups his hand in front of Cesc's mouth. Cesc drops the gum in his palm and Iker digs a wrapper out of his pocket, wads it up inside.for some reason, those lines just. idk. resonated or something? jajai just woke up sorry i can't form complete sentences (what a way to wake up, though, seeing this on my flist!) anyway these lines, to me they had a lot to say about cesc's and iker's relationship and i loved them

I fought against my love of domesticity for so long. I was like THAT'S JUST NOT ME, LOL. I LIKE WHEN THINGS ARE ~GRITTY, YOU KNOW, ~GRITTY LIKE A NOLAN MOVIE. But then it turns out that domesticity is actually all I'm interested in writing most of the time and I'm a total sap for it. So there's that.
You know, I almost left that part out. I was scared it bordered too much on childlike for Cesc--but, yeah. I mean, it's Cesc being like blaaaah get this out of my mouth and nothing about him could really gross Iker out, you know.
DON'T FIGHT IT, EMBRACE IT! THINK OF ALL THE CESC/IKER SNUGGLES!
i'm glad you didn't. it worked for cesc's character that you've developed, i think. it wasn't like he was waiting for iker to help him but once iker offered, he accepted. is how i read it.
hmm yes perhaps! i was home for thanksgiving and it was miraculously my turn to do dishes and cook breakfast every day. i'm sure if we had a cat she would've said the same thing.

I thought there would be real tears when this chapter ended. I was that sad. This is amazing, as always.
For the first hour, they talk about things they're afraid of. I love that. The entire plane, really, seemed like such a turning point in their behavior to each other.
"Cesc is an empanada," Unai says suggestively.
"You have no idea." I really love Unai.
There are so many wonderful little things in this chapter: how the cat loves Cesc, the scene where Cesc comes into Iker's room and Iker just holds him (how Iker realizes he misses just sleeping with Cesc)... It's all so perfect.
The entire plane, really, seemed like such a turning point in their behavior to each other.
I think it's, like, Iker being willing to be affectionate-ish with Cesc in public, and also admitting to him that there are things that scares him too. When he's probably never told anyone that kind of thing before. It is a very different Iker. He's kind of taken the plunge, you know.
This chapter was great! I always say that, but it is true. I love how much Iker's Mom likes Cesc. And how much closer Iker and Cesc seem to be getting. I just love this story SO MUCH.
