Oh, they are taking it. I heard that some had refused too, but the legislature here was already fudging around with the budget in anticipation of the money. But they are gonna tax the hell out of the tourism now (more then the state already does) Mostly, those governors that don't want the money are those who want to try to take over leadership of the Republican party and try for president four years from now. Grandstanding.
It's things like this (amongst others) that make me glad to be a UU... in fact, our brand spankin new (kinda) minister is rather openly out about her preferences...as is most of my church.
There are some things in this world that just don't make sense. I'm in a pretty backassward town m'self... home of wackos incapable of practicing what they preach (FOTF anyone?)... To combat the feelings of grrr, I'm going to go do some shamanic stuff now, hehe.
