I don't think I can change the background...at least, not for this layout. Theoretically, I can mess with the overrides, but that seems to require knowledge of HTML, which I don't have. Hence, I'm stuck with this. Until I feel the need to procrastinate even more, say the day before one of my papers is due.

"..have you ever transcended through time and space?" Something like that. That's what this whole paper feels like. >:(
