I'd be lying if I said I never cried. I'm not really ashamed of it because its very therapeutic at times. But the thing that gets me is that I cry at the weirdest times. Mostly sentimental things. Like when I sing to my baby daughter now I usually sing songs that my dad sang to me when I was a baby or growing up like Neil Young's "Helpless" or "Old ( Read more... )

You're just realizing and reconciling yourself with aspects of your personage that have been dormant. Adjusting to the new role as protector and provider. Maybe seeing bits of your Old Man and his Old Man in you.

Well, it's not like he's new to being a protector and provider.

What I want to know is if he feels disgusted with himself when he hears stuff like Poison and White Snake and realizes he once thought it was good... or hears Motley Crue and remembers that he once vowed to be buried in his favorite Motley Crue shirt. And feels disgusted with himself to the point where he wishes he could smite out all memories of 8th grade, forever.

You're both right. This is nothing new, the provider/protector part, but I didn't get to experience this part of Tabitha's life, so this is a whole new ballgame. Plus the baby looks exactly like me when I was a baby, and thats really, um....scary? No, like, something to do with karma and stuff.

And I never liked Motley Crue, etc when I was growing up. To me, they were a bunch of p0z3rz and I hated that whole glam music scene, but now I realize it wasn't half bad and I'd take the worst Poison song over any of this new-fangled Eminem/Kid Rock/Good Charlotte crap they pump out these days. Although I kinda dig System of a Down.

I like it when men cry. It is sad and happy and odd and soothing and a bunch of other things too. I've only seen my dad cry twice, and when it did it made me feel all those things and some other ones I probably can't remember because it was a while ago.

Shawns tears are really due to the fact that Juls looks like him but will act like Tab and me.. ;) He's doomed!

The baby looks like Shawn, so Shawn looks like a pink ball of semi-hairless baby-ness?

Excitement.
