Question....

If a team at work present a new product called 'GNOSYS' and used a tag line of "Are you aGNOSTYC" in an internal presentation would you:

A. Be offended that someone used religious terminology at work.
B. You made me come to this meeting?!
C. Hmm. Clever play on words.
D. You made me come to this meeting.

No... actually. They aren't. Some of the top 'thinkers' in the company. They loved the name 'Gnosis'... liked the name 'Gnosys'... but fruited when they saw 'Are you aGnostyc' as a tagline.

Its an internal tool... not going on the market as anything more than an open source project.

I was not expecting people to pick up on some religious connotation for 'gnosys'.

To me its like banning any word that ever had to do with any religion, anytime, ever.

Especially because one of the guys regularly uses 'Purgatory' for part of the state machine... and the Seven Deadly Sins as an illustration to a few of the concepts.
