My birthday this year got stretched out to a three-day epic celebration and it was everything I wanted it to be. My relationship with my own birthday has always been strained. I turn 39 the day after tomorrow. I have made a private vow, that before I turn 40 I will finish the final draft of the first volume of my epic science fiction series Fool's Game. Yeah, I've said that before. But enough is e-fucking-nough. This has gotten ridiculous.

What a week.
This has been a very trying week for both of us. So many things went wrong. Angie has been recovering from an illness that sent her to the ER, then her car lost its muffler strap. This weekend has been very busy for me, but I still manage to feel like I haven't done as much as I'd like. Come to think of it, this entire week has been pretty chaotic.

From teetotaller to mead monger.
Today I began fermenting my first batch of mead. If everything goes correctly, in a few months I will have a drinkable honey-flavored alcoholic beverage. Sure enough, I missed work.
I have a problem with going to bed on time. It's called I don't do it. I think it all caught up with me and compromised my immune system. I stayed home yesterday and by last night I had a fever.
