Suplado much?

I've always wondered if it's just me being suplado, or it's a cultural difference kind of thing.

Whenever I message contacts in different countries - let's say, if I have a question or need some confirmation from a contact in Costa Rica - I would always just say hi, then get straight to my point.

For example, I'd say "Hi [insert name here], just ( Read more... )

HAHAHAHAHHAHAHA! it's an american thing.

mela and i were discussing this - we (kano) have a "dance" that we do.

here's how it goes..

- always ask "how are you?" if they asked first, the response is: "i'm good/well/fine, how bout you?" ALWAYS ask how they are.

- talk/ask about the weather or "how are things over at (insert location here)?"

- then you can get on to your business... "so i have a quick question"

tada! welcome to america! hahahaha!

Over calls sometimes I run out of things to say when they ask "how are you?". It's always "I'm doing great or I'm fine" even when I'm having a craptastic day.

I think the "weather question" is an overkill. Lol.

hahahahah! basta remember to ask them how they are!

and about the weather, its not overkill. serious. its funny to us but that's how they do it here. and screw sincerity - just follow the script and you're good.

O nga, it's an American-thing. Standard greeting na yung 'how are you' between strangers.

Bakit hindi na lang pwedeng I call my contacts with their first name and initial of their last name. Tapos prolonged. Parang VIDA TTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!

But they can't call me Mico Boobs in return. Hahaha.

Sorry but it doesn't work that way. A "Vida TTTTT" is always the reply to a "Mico Boooooobs", and vice versa. Hahaha!

Hahaha. It's a cultural thing. and oh, with regards to weather... you'll understand once you've lived with four seasons. LOL. even i used to think the weather conversation was overkill, but that quickly changed after experiencing it for myself! HAHAHA.

as for the weather, ito, nakakadire. LOL. it's even worse than manila summer. it's extremely humid at this time. and to think that just a few days ago, for a few weeks, we were having thunderstorms left and right. hahaah.
